Dick Biggs (a young and spry 89) of Carson City is now back home after spending several days in Carson Tahoe Hospital with some stomach problems.

He is recovering nicely and is chomping at the bit to get back out to Topaz Lake for some trout fishing.

Give him at call at 882-2750 and wish him well.

Big game hunters: Remember that Monday, Apr. 17 at 5 p.m. is the final deadline for receiving applications for Nevada big game hunting tags for all of the 2006 seasons.

Elaine Quilici of Carson City might want to attend a Wildlife Identification 101 Course, after last Sunday.

While riding past the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area, she excitedly told her husband, "Don, look at all of those geese way over in that field."

When Don glanced over, all of the geese were actually a herd of deer!

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation will meet tonight at the Round Table Pizza at Eagle Station (3815 S. Carson St.) beginning at 6 p.m.

Whoever filled in the trenches that were cut across U.S. 50, just west of Dayton, might want to take the course "How to properly fill in a trench 101."

What is so complicated with making the top of the trench match up with the the top of the pavement?
