A memorial service for Sheila Ann Plimpton, 62, a former Carson City resident, will be at noon Wednesday at the St. Thomas Catholic Church at 1720 NW 19th Street in Redmond, Ore.

Mrs. Plimpton died March 30, 2006. The oldest of five children, she was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Bend, Ore., to CJ "Speed" and Ann Croghan.

She was a businesswoman.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, paint horses, raising her own horses, quilting, crocheting and cooking.

She was involved in the NPHC and the APHC.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jim.

Among her survivors are her husband of 42 years, Allen Ray Plimpton; sisters Sharon Carrell and Liz Croghan; brother Dick Croghan; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Jill Plimpton; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Joe Egan; daughter Tara Plimpton and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Association, in honor of granddaughter Kate Elizabeth Plimpton.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
