A memorial service for Richard Glen Biggs, 89, a 60-year Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Mr. Biggs died Nov. 2, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to Homer and Laura Biggs.

He married Wanda Biggs in 1945 in San Francisco.

He was a Nevada State Highway soil testing engineer.

He belonged to the Masons, the Ormsby Sportsman's Association, the Carson City Board to Manage Wildlife, the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Club, the National Rifle Association and the Retired Public Employees of the State of Nevada Association. He was a hunting safety instructor, a past member of the state board of directors of the Nevada Wildlife Foundation and had been honored by the Nevada Wildlife Federation as State Hunter Education Instructor of the Year, and State Conservationist of the Year.

He was preceded in death by brother Homer "Bud" Biggs on June 29, 1999, in Reno.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Laura and Rick Todd of Lodi, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law David and Margaret Biggs of Gardnerville; sister Laurel Cooney of Carson City; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
