A memorial service for Glenn Nichols, 78, a former 32-year Carson City resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive in Carson City.

Mr. Nichols died Oct. 14, 2006, in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Portland, Ore.

He married Audrey Bean on Nov. 2, 1945, in Pasadena, Calif., then married Donna Hargis July 13, 2002, at Stampede Reservoir.

He worked at Safeway, Warehouse Market, and the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Carson City until his retirement in 2000.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

He had traveled to Europe, Alaska, Mexico and throughout the United States.

He was a member of the Capital Cut-Ups square-dancing club.

He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1998, and by his brother Clyde Nichols.

Among his survivors are his second wife of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; sons and daughters-in-law Nick and Sam Nichols of Dayton, Kenne and Shayna Nichols of Sparks, Guy and Emma Nichols of Carson City, and Brian and Winona Nichols of Arizona; daughter, Valerie Jackson of Mound House; brother and sister-in-law Ken and Sue Nichols of Tapenga Canyon, Calif.; stepson Don Austencamp; stepsons and daughters-in-law Paul and Corky Austencamp and Steven and Suzie Austencamp; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
