D.L. BLISS STATE PARK - The U.S. Coast Guard and search-and-rescue crews continued to look Sunday for a male who reportedly jumped from the cliffs along Rubicon Trail into Lake Tahoe and never resurfaced.

The unidentified male apparently used a rope to jump from a ledge into the lake at D.L. Bliss State Park, officials at the scene said. The trailhead leading to the cliffs is clearly marked with a sign that says "no diving within the state park system."

Police dispatchers have been reporting the incident as a possible drowning.

The accident happened at around 3:15 p.m. It was unknown as of press time who reported the person missing. Authorities interviewed people at the scene but would not disclose any additional information as of press time.

At least three separate rescue units were called to the state park, including an El Dorado County Sheriff's patrol boat and the Coast Guard. A search and rescue unit was also dispatched to the scene.

So far this year, six people have drowned at Lake Tahoe.
