A funeral for Brenda G. Mavrakis-Nielsen, 52, a five-year Wellington resident, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. A viewing will begin at noon.
Mrs. Mavrakis-Nielsen died Sept. 19, 2006, at her home. She was born July 30, 1954, in San Marcus, Texas, to James R. and Shirley F. Burrus.
Before moving to Wellington, Mrs. Mavrakis-Nielsen lived in Hayward, Calif.
She was a high school graduate and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Among her survivors are her father; husband Steve Nielsen of Wellington; son Nick Mavrakis of Fremont, Calif.; daughter Jamie Nielsen of Dayton; sisters Deborah Johnson, Linda Meserve and Mary Heim; brother Jim Burrus II; five nieces; five nephews; one aunt; and one uncle.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
