Soccer clinic is Sunday at Edmonds

Members of the Carson High varsity boys soccer team will conduct a clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Edmonds Park.

The clinic is being organized by CHS varsity goalie Brandon Briggs as part of his Eagle Scout project. Boys and girls ages 9-12 are eligible. For more information, call Briggs, 883-4046.

Dayton Come Fun Run is scheduled

The Dayton Como Fun Walk-Run will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday. Oct. 14. There will be 5K, 10K and 1-mile runs and a 2-mile walk. The race begins and ends at Como Park off of Old Dayton Valley Road in Dayton.

Entry fee is $30 per person or $40 for a youth and adult participating together. Cost for the 1-mile fun run is $8. The fee includes a t-shirt, drawing and refreshments.

Ribbions for first, second and third place finishers in age divisions 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 4-49, 50-59 and 60 and older will be awarded. Prizes for the overall winners will be:

10K - Carson Valley Inn overnight stay; 5K - Two Mt. Rose ski tickets; 2-mile walk - Adele's $40 gift certificate; 1-mile fun run - Wild Island Golf, roller coaster and raceway tickets.

Prizes for those who finish second and third place overall wll be: Two lunch and dinner tickets at Bertha Mirandas; two buffets ad Boomtown; to dinners at Gold Dust West; two dinners at the Peppermill; a Red Lobster gift card; a Smiths gift card; two lunches at the Carson Station.

Drawing prizes include two round-trip tickets from Southwest Airlines and a Chile's gift card. All proceeds will benefit the Central Lyon Youth Connection's youth programs.
