Cashman Equipment to celebrate opening of new CAT rental store

Cashman Equipment Co. will celebrate the opening of its newest equipment rental store in Carson City on April 12.

The grand opening starts at 11 a.m. with a ribbon cutting by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. Visitors can tour the new building, see the rental equipment available and enter a raffle. The barbecue will be catered by Kozy's Kitchen.

The 1,500-square-foot store includes rental and service departments and a four-bay service shop. The building was built by Q&D Construction and is owned by Julius Ballardini.

Cashman Equipment was founded in 1931 by James "Big Jim" Cashman. It's a full service dealer of Caterpillar construction equipment.

It also provides parts and service to construction, paving, mining, logging, truck engine and power system industries in Nevada and parts of California.

Headquartered in North Las Vegas, Cashman is one of the largest privately-owned employers in Nevada.

The 4880 East Nye Lane store is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
