Minden's Stephanie Murata won her ninth national championship in women's wrestling at the U.S. National Championships on Friday in Las Vegas.
Murata, ranked No. 1 in the U.S., pinned Marry Kelly in the second round at 105 1/2 pounds in the championship match.
"I think (trailing after the first period) reinforced what I needed to do to win," Murata said. "I didn't do what I needed to do in the first period."
