Dayton softball sweeps Incline

DAYTON SOFTBALL SWEEPS

The Dayton softball team (9-9, 5-5) also swept Incline, winning the opener 10-0 and the nightcap 15-1.

In the opener, Brittany Curtis pitched a complete game three-hit shutout, striking out five and walking none over five innings. Sara Simmons was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBi, Amanda Beard was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI, Sierra Barnwell was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, Matia Spencer was 1-for-2 with two RBI and Breann DeHaven was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

In the nightcap, Lindsie Cross pitched the complete game for the win, allowing four hits over five innings. Sara Simmons ws 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and five RBI, Melissa Goetz was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, DeHaven doubled twice with two runs and an RBI, Sierra Barnwell ws 1-for-3 with a run, Brittany Burrows was 1-for-3 with two runs, Nicole Iratcabal doubled with two runs and Cross was 1-for-3 with three RBI.
