Donavan Guy Cotton, 67, a 31-year Silver Springs resident, died April 16, 2007, in Silver Springs. No local services will be held.

Mr. Cotton was born Dec. 4, 1939, in Clovis, N.M., to Guy and Ama Cotton.

Before moving to Silver Springs, Mr. Cotton lived in North Hollywood, Calif.

He was a musician and an operating engineer.

He served in the USO as a musician, and played for troops in Vietnam.

He belonged to the Professional Musicians Local 47.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Frank and Lindy Cotton.

Among his survivors are his ex-wife, Maxine Cotton of Carson City; sons Donavan Guy Cotton of Fallon and Jeffery David Cotton of Carson City; daughter, Kandi Lynne Carpenter of Denver; sisters Evelyn Drake and Marci Cillessen, both of Clovis; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family relatives.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
