Carson City Library to sell boxes of classic magazines


The Friends of the Carson City Library will be selling boxes of classic, pristine condition magazines such as Smithsonian, National Geographic, Life, Airplanes, Military History and Warship International. Each box goes for $5 per box for one week only. All sales will go to benefit the Carson City Library. Magazines are available at the Browsers' Corner at the library, 900 N. Roop St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale started Saturday.


Senior Center to offer computer classes


The Carson City Senior Citizen's Center will offer two "Introduction to Computer" classes. The first will begin today and run through May 23. It will meet each Monday and Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. The second will begin on Tuesday and run through May 24. It will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3 p.m. The cost is $40 and includes all materials.


The classes are limited to eight students each, on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost is $20. Registration for these classes is at the business office of the senior center, 911 Beverly Drive. For information, call 883-0703, ext. 222.


Airport authority's title 19 workshop meeting


The Carson City Airport Authority will hold its Title 19 Workshop meeting at 6 p.m. today in the Terminal Building at the Carson City Airport. Copies of the published agenda can be obtained at Community Development's offices by calling 887-2180 or on the Web at www.carsoncity-airport.com.


Muscle Powered to hold free movie night


Muscle Powered will be holding a free movie night featuring the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson City Library's Auditorium, 900 N. Roop St. There is no charge, but donations are accepted. Seating is limited and there are no reservations. For information, call 883-7907.

Douglas County Republican Women to meet


Hal Hansen, Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada, and Carol Lark, superintendent of Douglas County schools, will be the featured speakers at the Douglas County Republican Women's meeting Wednesday.


The event will be at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395 North, beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch and events start at noon.

Genoa to hold town meeting Tuesday


The Genoa Town Advisory board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Genoa Town Meeting room, 2289 Main St.
