YERINGTON - The advertisement for the position of Lyon County manager has been removed from the county Web site, but Human Resources director Steve Englert said negotiations are not quite complete with top candidate Dennis Stark.
The Lyon County commissioners voted last week to offer Stark the position and begin salary and benefit negotiations.
Salary for the county manager ranges from $95,343 to $132,778, depending on whether the employee chooses employer-paid or employee-paid retirement.
Stark is the city manager for Charlotte, Mich., and before that was city manager for Litchfield, Mich.
The job has been open since former county manager Donna Kristaponis was fired in February. Bob Hadfield, has been serving in as interim county manager.
