A trade publication has given the Carson City company Calculated Industries its highest quality rating based on a readers' poll.

It is the third time the company has earned a first-place rating from Builder magazine.

The company makes several products for the construction industry, including a line of construction-math calculators and digital plan measures.

The 2007 survey published in the spring issue sampled more than 10,000 of the magazine's 120,000 subscribers who define themselves as builders, builder-developers or general contractors. Those surveyed are asked which brands they know best, which ones they use the most, and which they rate highest in quality.

Calculated Industries was founded in 1978 and a manufacturer of specialty calculators and electronics. According to the company, it has developed tools for tasks ranging from construction, architecture, real estate and lending to home projects, graphic arts, cooking and quilting. The company, which moved to Carson City in 1994, employs 55 people at its Carson City headquarters.
