Frank Taylor with Sertoma of Carson City has Football Books available. Purchasers of books get a square for each of the 16 Monday night football games. Weekly winners receive an allotted cash prize, which will be determined from final game score. All the proceeds benefit Carson City children with hearing problems, cancer or diabetes.

The Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off is finger-licking good, so it's no surprise thousands make their way to Victorian Square in Sparks.

The Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off brings it all together from dozens of rib cookers, hundreds of craft and vendor booths and free entertainment including nightly headline acts.

This year will be the 19th annual rib cook-off, and one you'll want to keep on coming back, too.

You don't have to go to Italy to stomp grapes - you can take off your shoes and jump right in this Saturday. All ladies are welcome to stomp away at D'Vine Wine & Bistro in the first Carson Crush contest when you join the wine walk.

Come out and help Soroptimist International help local women in receiving the assistance they cannot find anywhere else. The Soroptimist International of Carson City's Stroke to Help Fight Breast Cancer Golf Tournament makes a difference in saving lives.

A hard-working mother of three who doesn't work more than 40 hours and does not have insurance, a young college student trying to get by or a homeless woman in need of help ... These women come from all walks of life and they need help.
