A Rosary will be recited for Lorraine Irene Small, 100, a 20-year resident of Carson City, at 7 p.m. today at the Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Mrs. Small died Aug. 25, 2007, in Carson City. She was born Aug. 7, 1907, to Wilmot Dow Wood and Adeline Elnora Carpenter in Paso Robles, Calif. She married John Hugh Small on May 5, 1928, in San Jose, Calif.

She was a draftsman by profession and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, gardening and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, son Arthur R. Small in 1934; daughter-in-law Patricia Small in 1997; brother Wilbur Wood; sisters Fanchon Hunter and Maxine Walters.

Among her survivors are sons and daughters-in-law James A. and Betsy Small, Richard H. and Shirl Small, and J. Dennis and Nina A. Small; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.

Inurnment will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Walton's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
