Fred Cooper passed away on Dec. 7, 2007 in Carson City at the age of 98. Born on Oct. 21, 1909 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Fred and Priscilla Cooper.

At the age of 13, his grandparents brought he and his sister Evelyn to Sacramento, Calif. After attending local schools he worked as a printing apprentice and later became a photo-lithographer. He worked for several printing companies in San Francisco. After 40 years he retired from the Enterprise press Newspaper in South San Francisco. He was married twice. First to Marjorie Stahl in 19933 and to Joy Allison in 1967.

He is survived by his daughter Priscilla McNaught and Husband Donald of Grass Valley, Calif.; grandson, Jeffrey of Los Gatos, Calif.; granddaughter Lisa and husband Lance Collup and great-grandson Brycen Collup of Reno; step-daughter Hillarie Allison of Golden Valley, Ariz., and her son and grandson Greg and Gavin of Roseville, Calif. He is also survived by dear friend and caregiver, Sandra Butler.

He was preceded in death by his sister, first wife, second wife and beloved companion Catherine Butler.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, 1281 N. Roop St., Carson City.

Remembrances may be made to American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
