Theodore "Ted" Edward Thran passed away in his home on Dec. 26, 2007. He was 77 years old. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Dec. 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
Ted was a lifelong resident of Carson Valley. He was born September 22, 1930 to Richard and June Thran. While living in the Valley he worked for CC Meneley, the Minden Creamery, Herb Cordes Construction and finally forming a construction business with his brothers Bob and Jon, called Thran Brother's Construction. Later on the three brothers inherited part of the Thran Ranch and continued ranching it until the death of his brother Bob.
He is predeceased in death by his parents Richard and June Thran and brothers Emery and Bob.
He is survived by his wife Susan Cornforth of 46 years; sons, Ted and Mike; brother Jon and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to a charity of your choice be sent in Ted's name.
Walton's Funeral Home is handling the final arrangements.
