Jack L. Evans, 64, a 15-year Dayton resident, died Jan. 31, 2007, in Carson City.

Mr. Evans was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Gilbert and Thelma Evans.

He married Carol Evans on Oct. 23, 1988, in Las Vegas.

Before moving to Dayton, Mr. Evans lived in Gardnerville.

He was the chief mechanic for the Yellow Cab Co. in Stateline.

He enjoyed restoring classic cars, Hot August Nights, traveling and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Wanda Heiney.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Dayton; son Scott Evans of California; daughters Lynnette Dorsi of Temecula, Calif., and Kristal Evans of Dayton; stepdaughter Anjanette Powell of Dayton; sisters Sharlene Baker, Doris Baker and Margaret Smith, all of Akron, Ohio; brothers Kenneth and Robert Evens, both of Akron; and nine grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
