A funeral Mass for Virginia Anne Mankins, 79, a 41-year Carson City resident, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Mankins died Feb. 2, 2007, in Carson City. She was born July 20, 1927, in Springfield, Mo., to Samuel and Catherine (Poole) Larkin.

She married Clifford Mankins on April 30, 1966, in South Lake Tahoe.

She had a degree in education.

Mrs. Mankins was a teacher, and last taught sixth grade at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School. She also taught in South Lake Tahoe and Louisiana.

She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and was a hospice volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1982; brothers Howard, James, Robert, Carl and Donald Larkin; and sister, Helen Howard.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Roxanne and Daniel Spring and Nell and David Smith, all of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, Leo and Annette Mankins of Carson City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine nieces; and seven nephews.

Burial will be at the Mottsville Cemetery.
