A funeral service for Violet Jean Johnson, 59, of Lawrence, Kan., will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene in Lawrence, Kan.

Mrs. Johnson died Feb. 5, 2007, after an illness. She was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Shelby, Mich., to Reginald and Marion Spooner Rowe.

She married Arnold Johnson Sept. 10, 1962. They later divorced.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Among her survivors are her daughters Dawn Lietz of Gardnerville and Barbara Lawrenz of Lawrence; son, Darren Johnson of Lawrence; brothers Frank, Leslie and Edward Rowe, all of Michigan; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
