The Democratic presidential candidates' forum in Carson City on Feb. 21 will be moderated by ABC News correspondent George Stephanopoulos, according to state Democratic Party officials.

The forum at noon in the Carson City Community Center is sponsored by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the national public employees' union.

U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, former vice presidential nominee John Edwards, U.S. Sen. Joe Biden, U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd, former U.S. Sen. Mike Gravel, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack have all said they will attend.

The statewide party caucuses are set for Jan. 19, and will be centered in Reno.

Nevada's caucus was moved between Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucus and the New Hampshire primary, as a way for minority and union voters in the West to get a say in picking the Democratic nominee.

Stephanopoulos is the chief Washington correspondent for ABC News and anchor of ABC's Sunday morning program, "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," according to the network's Web site, abcnews.go.com.

Stephanopoulos oversees the network's coverage of Congress and reports on politics and policy for ABC shows including: "World News Tonight," "Nightline," "Good Morning America" and ABC's online offerings ABC News Now and ABCNews.com.

Candidates will appear on stage individually, give a statement, and answer a series of questions posed by the moderator, said Kirsten Searer, of the state Democratic party.

Tickets for the event will be given to the sponsoring union membership.

It is unknown how many will be made available to the public. The center seats about 750.

In addition to attending the forum, Sen. Biden will meet Democrats and interested members of the public Feb. 20 in Carson City.

Biden said he will be in town for the Democratic candidates forum the following day at the community center. A spokesman said the senator will be at Comma Coffee across Carson Street from the Nevada Legislature at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
