Sigffredo 'Sig' Schroth

A memorial service for Sigffredo "Sig" Schroth, 44, a 13-year Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall in Carson City.

Mr. Schroth died Feb. 15, 2007, in Carson City. He was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Montebello, Calif., to Carlos Sigffredo and Inge Schroth.

He married Virginia D. Schroth on July 25, 1986, in Pacioma, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Schroth lived in San Fernando Valley, Calif.

He played semiprofessional soccer for the Valley Eagles in San Fernando Valley. He wrote children's books at the time of his death.

He was a Jehovah's Witness and a member of the Kingdom Hall in Carson City.

He enjoyed soccer, reading, camping, playing basketball, scuba diving and playing the clarinet.

He was preceded in death by his father Jan. 21, 1997.

Among his survivors are his mother of Las Vegas; wife of Carson City; son, Philip Enrique Schroth of Carson City; sister, Inge W. Evans of Las Vegas; and brothers and sisters-in-law Alberto and Angela Schroth of El Segundo, Calif., and Adobin and Ester Schroth of Acton, Calif.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
