Douglas Sims, 58, a Carson City resident for the past 35 years, died Feb. 17, 2007, at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif.
Mr. Sims was born Feb. 10, 1949, in Richmond, Calif., to Frank and Ann Sims.
Prior to living in Carson City, he lived in Concord, Calif.
He was a carpenter for 35 years.
Among his survivors are his wife, Nancy, of Carson City; brothers Richard of Pleasanton, Calif., and Jeffrey of Mesa, Ariz.; sons David and Daniel, both of Las Vegas; grandson Brandon of Las Vegas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation was under the direction of Bay Area Cremation and Funeral Services in Redwood City, Calif.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
