A graveside service for Gilbert Aaron Bennett Jr., 67, a 55-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Stewart Indian Cemetery. A visitation will be 4-6 p.m. tonight at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mr. Bennett died Feb. 25, 2007, at his home. He was born May 23, 1939, in Carson City, to Gilbert Aaron Bennett and Viola Rupert.

He married Darleen Bennett on June 6, 1965.

He worked in road construction and was an HVAC mechanic for the state of Nevada.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-59.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Rayond and Julie Bennett of Dayton; son Todd Bennett of Sparks; daughter, Jeanelle Bennett of Reno; sister ,Harriet McNicoll of Carson City; brother, Mig Bennett of Carson City; four grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
