A funeral for Virginia Rachael Sargent Dutchy, 56, a lifetime Carson City resident, will at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carson Colony Gym, 2900 S. Curry St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.

Mrs. Dutchy died Dec. 29, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1950, in Schurz, to Robert A. Sargent Sr. and Bernice P. Sargent.

She was a Carson High School graduate, and had attended the Reno School of Cosmetology.

She was a homemaker.

She belonged to the Washoe Indian Tribe, Clear Creek Ward, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her mother; sister, Mary E. Sargent; and husband Lew Dutchy.

Among her survivors are her father of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Tamela and Aldean Street of Carson City; son, Lew Robert Dutchy of Carson City; brothers Robert and Wyman Sargent, both of Carson City; seven grandchildren; six nephews and nieces; 13 great- nephews and -nieces; and numerous extended-family members.

Burial will take place at the Stewart Indian Cemetery in Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
