A memorial service for April Magner, 25, a one-year Las Vegas resident, will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn Express Hall, 4055 N. Carson St.

Ms. Magner died Jan. 4, 2007, in Las Vegas. She was born April 23, 1981, in Carson City, to Bruce and Christine Bosworth Magner.

She graduated from Carson High School in 1999.

She was Nevada's poster child for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the early 1990s.

She was granted a trip to Colorado from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to meet the rock band Bush and attend their concert.

Before moving to Las Vegas, April was a lifetime Carson City resident.

She enjoyed music such as Bush, Tori Amos, and Sarah McLachlan, graphic design, and using the Internet to connect with friends all over the country.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Barbara Boston.

Among her survivors are her father of Carson City, mother of Las Vegas; sister and brother-in-law Linsey and William Coen of Las Vegas; sister Faith Barlow of Las Vegas; brothers Danny Magner of Reno and Gabriel McMillan of Las Vegas; grandparents Clint and Pat Magner of Marysville, Wash., and Ron and Jan Bosworth of Kennewick, Wash.; grandfather George Boston of Reno; niece Allanah Coen of Las Vegas; and numerous extended relatives.

Cremation took place at Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas. Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas is in charge of arrangements.
