Sheriffs' Log

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Ronald Michael Roper, 31, of Virginia City, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on F Street in Virginia City along with Sara Janene Combs, 24. Both were charged with two counts of fraud and two counts of writing checks on a closed checking account. They allegedly wrote checks in Carson City for a motor home, two all-terrain vehicles and a trailer. Each is being held on $20,000 bail.

• Jermaine Hoffman, 18, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Monday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, petty larceny, and minor consuming alcohol. Bail was set at $5,017.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:

• Traffic citations were issued to drivers on North C Street and State Route 341.

• Report of smoke at the Gold Hill Hotel at 12:28 p.m.

• A report of a dog running loose on South H Street and not allowing cars to pass at 12:25 p.m.

• A report of a child calling a home on Graves Road and using "foul language" at 9:16 p.m.

• A trailer was stuck in mud on USA Parkway just after midnight Monday.
