As part of the Nevada Appeal's annual almanac, Carson Discoveries, we're asking you to send us your photos that show why you choose to live in Carson City or the surrounding area.
Photos will be judged, and the overall winner will be featured on the cover of the almanac, which will publish March 28.
Other winners will be featured inside the publication.
Prizes will include: first place - $150 Best Buy gift certificate; second place - $100 Best Buy gift certificate; third place - $75 Best Buy gift certificate; People's Choice - $50 Best Buy gift certificate.
Submissions must be made by Feb. 9.
Photos must be authentic originals and may be e-mailed with name, address (city, state, zip) and daytime phone, to photocontest@nevadaappeal.com. Entries may also be dropped off at the front desk of the Appeal, 580 Mallory Way.

Carson Discoveries magazine contains important information for those new to the area. It also features a calendar of events to help newcomers and longtime residents alike plan entertainment ventures months in advance.
