A funeral for Ruth Evelyn (Foster) Priem, 75, a South Lake Tahoe resident for 14 years, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Squaw Valley Chapel, United Church of Christ, 440 Squaw Peak Road. Visitation will be 1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Priem died Jan. 15, 2007, in Gardnerville. She was born June 14, 1931, in Crane, Mo., to Rev. Thurias and Rev. Laura Beryl Renshaw Fessler.

She married Rev. Dr. Roy I. Priem on June 12, 1955, in Clarinda, Iowa.

She lived in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

She was a registered nurse and received a bachelor's degree in zoology from North Central College.

She was a professional violinist and concertmaster of the Carson City Symphony.

She served as a pastor's wife, church choir director, choral conductor, soprano soloist and violin teacher.

She was preceded in death by half-brother Robert Fessler.

Among her survivors are her husband, of South Lake Tahoe; daughter Cynthia A. Priem of Ft. Wright, Ky.; son Curtis R. Priem of Fremont, Calif.; twin brother Dr. Myron Fessler, brother William Fessler; two grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Burial will be at the Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Lake or Carson City Symphony.
