A car fire on a trail west of Mica Drive near Arcadia Drive triggered a brush fire at about 10 p.m. Sunday.
About 3-5 acres had burned in the desert about a quarter mile west of the main subdivision of Indian Hills.
By 11:30 p.m., firefighters had knocked it down and begun mop-up operations.
Firefighters from Indian Hills, Genoa and Jacks Valley and the Nevada Division of Forestry responded to a blaze at the end of Arcadia near Indian Hills.
