TRUCKEE 12, CARSON AMERICAN 11
Carson American pulled off a miraculous comeback in the top of the sixth inning, scoring eight runs to overcome a 9-1 deficit, forcing a 9-9 tie in extra innings.
The Americans then took a 10-9 lead in the seventh, but Truckee came back to tie it in the bottom of the seventh. The Americans regained an 11-10 lead in the eighth before Truckee scored twice to win it in the bottom of the eighth.
The Americans received a solid effort on the mound from Connor Pradere and clutch hitting from Josiah Pongasi. The Americans (1-2) will play to secure a berth in the quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Sparks Centennial at the Ranchos Aspen Park in Gardnerville.
