Carson High's Brandi Vega was selected to participate in the regional Olympic Development Program, also known as ODP.
Vega, who will be a junior at CHS, was one of only 11 players in the state to be selected from her age group. Vega will participate in the regional camp July 18-22 at the University of Idaho.
At the regional camp, players from California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming will participate. Vega was selected for the district team and then to try out for the Nevada ODP team. Vega was then chosen to represent Nevada at the regional camp.
Nevada Lightning 12-under tryouts set
The Nevada Lightning Orange 12 and under team is looking for experience players to play tournament softball.
Tryouts will be held from 1-3 p.m. July 22 and August 4 at Idlewild Park. For more information, call Charlie Dettling, 8133-1178 or 626-2901.
