The Capital City Volleyball Club's 16 and under Black team finished sixth out of 188 teams in its division in last week's Volleyball Festival in Reno.
The finish is believed to be one of the highest if not the highest ever finish for a Nevada team in the history of the tournament. The Volleyball Festival is the world's largest women's sporting event. The team included many local players from Douglas, Galena, Yerington, Carson, Fallon, Truckee and Sierra Lutheran High Schools.
Eliminators tryouts today and July 21
The Carson Valley Eliminators 13 and under girls soccer team will hold tryouts at 5:45 p.m. today and 11:45 a.m. Saturday, July 21 at Gardnerville Elemenatary School. For more information, call (775) 782-1157.
