Bighorns drop three at Redding

The Nevada Bighorns continued their tough schedule as they dropped three games over the weekend against another top level college team, the Redding (Calif.) Colt 45s.

The Bighorns dropped the opener of the series 11-0 and then lost 6-2 and 3-0. In the opener, Jeff Young and Ryan Simpson each had two hits and Tyson Jaquez, Steve Mays and Aaron Henry all added a hit.

In the 6-2 loss, Jaquez provided the two runs with a two-run home run. Simpson, Mays, Adam Anderson and Tom O'Brien all added a hit. Jess Rasner pitched a complete game for the Bighorns.

In the 3-0 loss, Daniel Eastham pitched a complete game, striking out 10 over seven innings while allowing six hits in taking the loss. The Bighorns were limited to three hits. Young, Jaquez and Simpson each had a hit to account for the Bighorns hits.

The Bighorns will next play against the Reno Astros at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moana Stadium.
