Dale Townsend, 69, an 18-year resident of Dayton, died July 24, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Townsend was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Shreveport, La., to Clyde Townsend and Deanna DiNallo. He was a retired Naval criminal investigator.
He was a State Legislative Police Officer for 10 years and a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed books, music and wine.
Among his survivors are his brother Wade; sister Janet Brewer; daughters Traci of Carmel Valley, Calif., and Cheri of San Diego; and son Anthony of Hemet, Calif.
An open house will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today and Sunday at 110 River Village Circle, Dayton.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
