The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services is hosting the 2007 60th annual National Association of State Human Services Finance Officers Conference this week at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks. About 250 finance and budget officers from various state health and human service departments across the nation are attending the conference.
The theme for the conference is "Sparking New Ideas and Mining Solutions." Prominent national speakers will address the attendees, who will hear about the latest trends and information concerning Medicaid funding, public health funding matters, financial issues relating to substance abuse and mental health, ramifications of the federal Deficit Reduction Act, and about innovative Web-based programs designed to enhance accountability and performance.
