Bighorns fall again to Humboldt Crabs

The Nevada Bighorns dropped its second straight game to the Humboldt Crabs on Saturday in Arcada, Calif., losing 8-1.

The second game of a scheduled doubleheader between the two teams was called. At the time, the game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the third inning.

The Crabs scored three runs in the first and second innings and twice in the third to take control in the opener. Pete Rogan settled down after that to pitch a complete game for the Bighorns.

Kevin Schlange went 2-for-3 and drove home Tyson Jaquez for the Bighorns' only run. Ryan Simpson, Steve Mays and Jaquez also all added a hit for the Bighorns.

The Bighorns will wrap up their series in Arcada with a game against the Humboldt All-Stars at 11 a.m. today.
