A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Reid Meyer, 70, a 49-year Carson City resident, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday.

Mr. Meyer died June 22, 2007, in Carson City.

He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa, to Marvin Lee and Mildred Meyer.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in DeWitt, Iowa.

He married Mary JoAnn Jellings on Sept. 19, 1959, in Carson City.

He worked as a project manager for the Nevada Department of Transportation and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Meyers enjoyed golfing, volunteering at church, and spending time with his family.

He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Community for more than 48 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagle Valley Men's Golf Club and bowling leagues.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in law, John T. and Lori Meyer of Carson City; daughters and sons-in law Debi and J.P. Penrod of Minden and Jennifer and Craig Meadows of Reno; daughter, Diana Mazy of Dayton; sister and brother-in law, Mary Ann and Brian Randall of Carson City; and seven grandchildren.

Donations in his name may be made to the Eagle Valley Golf Course's Carson High School golf fund, 3999 Centennial Park Drive, Carson City, 89706.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
