The National Arbor Day Foundation will give every person who joins the foundation during March, 10 free flowering dogwood trees.

The trees will be shipped post paid at the right time for planting, between now and May 31, with instructions on planting.

To become a member of the foundation, send a $10 contribution to 10 Free Dogwood Trees, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE, 68410 by March 31, or visit www.arborday.org.

Carson City

Airport Authority to meet Monday

The Carson City Airport Authority will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the conference room at El Aero Services, 2102 Arrowhead Drive. A workshop will focus on Title 19. This portion of the city's municipal code focuses primarily on airport rules and regulations.

Parks and Recreation meeting canceled

The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.

The group's next meeting would be 5:30 p.m. March 20.

Senior Project volunteers sought

All seniors at Carson High School must participate in the senior project. At the end of the year, seniors must present this project to a panel of judges, comprised of teachers, local leaders and community members.

Carson High School relies on volunteers to judge the senior projects and are looking for them.

Panels are May 1 and 2, with two panels per day, one from 7-8:40 a.m. and one from 9-10:20 a.m.

There are also three optional training sessions from 2:30-4 p.m. April 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. April 26 or from 10-11:30 a.m. April 28. Volunteers will need to review portfolios prior to their panel date.

Carson River Advisory meeting called off

The Carson River Advisory Committee scheduled for Wednesday has been called off.

The next scheduled meeting would be April 4.

March is blood 'Donor Appreciation Month'

United Blood Services has declared March Donor Appreciation Month and will be presenting each donor with a "Got Blood?" T-shirt. For information or to make an appointment, call 887-9111.
