A funeral for R B Cooper, 75, an 11-year Wellington resident, will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside, Calif. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Mr. Cooper died March 1, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Quinton, Okla., to Alfred B. Cooper and Eva E. Bryant.

He married Roberta J. Watson on March 31, 1952, in Los Angeles.

Before moving to Wellington, Mr. Cooper lived in Riverside.

He graduated from Perris Union High School in 1950.

He was employed in aerospace for Rohr Industries in Riverside and Edgemont, Calif., eventually in management. He retired in 1987 after 34 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR and baseball.

He was preceded in death by son Randall B. Cooper in 1970 in Riverside; one sister and four brothers.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Wellington; daughter Deborah J. Darling of Wellington; son Gregory B. Cooper of Riverside; sister Billie Mae Cooper of Riverside; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous extended-family members.

Burial will take place at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
