Fund-raiser set for Carson baseball

Attitudes Salon of Carson City is holding a cut-a-thon fund-raiser for the Carson High baseball program.

The fund-raiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1 at Attitudes, 559 South Saliman, Carson City. CHS baseball will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from the haircuts that are done during the fund-raiser. CHS baseball players will be present during the fund-raiser sweeping up hair.

There will also be a drawing with the grand prize being a $300 salt water aquarium. Those participating who mention a baseball player by name, that player will receive 50 percent of their donation.

Results from the Empire Ranch Senior Men's Golf Club's individual stroke play tournament held on Wednesday:

Flight A: Low net - Nick Paul 67; second - Terry Thomas 70; third - Jack Pishnak 71 (won tiebreaker); fourth - Jack Eldridge 71 (won tiebreaker); fifth - John Masiello 71. Flight B: Low net - Lew Dodgion 68 (won tiebreaker); second - John Sullivan 68; third - Dick Montoya 70 (won tiebreaker); fourth - Myron Carpenter 70; fifth - Henry Ortiz 71 (won tiebreaker).

Flight C: Low net - Don Becker 669 (won tiebreaker); second - Rich Bell 69; third - Paul Beavers 70; fourth - Jerry Webster 71 (won tiebreaker); fifth - Robert Pluth (won tiebreaker). Flight D: Low net - Gerald Pongasi 64; second - Paul Weller 70; third - Neil Dettorre 72 (won tiebreaker); fourth - Bill Bennett 72; fifth - Art Skipworth 73 (won tiebreaker).
