Carl Floyd Spanner, 88, a nine-year Gardnerville resident, died April 27, 2007, at Merrill Gardens in Gardnerville.

Mr. Spanner was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Greeley, Colo., to Carl Spanner and Maryann Oliver.

He married Anna Spanner on Dec. 27, 1975, in Carson City.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mr. Spanner lived in Carson City.

He was a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by son Daniel Spanner on Aug. 26, 2002, in Carson City.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Lynda and Bill Teglia of Gardnerville; stepson and daughter-in-law Bob and Helen Cain of New Mexico; stepdaughter Liz Hirsch of Nebraska; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
