A service for Sherman Johnson, 52, a Carson City resident for the past 17 years, will be May 26, 2007, in Grants Pass, Ore.

Mr. Johnson died May 6, 2007, at his home in Carson City. He was born Sept. 30, 1954, in Crescent City, Calif., to William and Patricia Nix Johnson.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1997.

Among his survivors are his wife of 25 years, Beverly of Carson City; father and sister Sandra Jacobson, both of Grants Pass; sister Kathy Connelly of Florida; children Tina Mattz of Crescent City, Tammy Green of Grants Pass, Gary Kenny of Carson City; Darrell Berg and William Cobian, both of Grants Pass; Teresa Stockton of White City, Ore., and 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He donated his body to science to help find a cure for lupus.
