A quick-moving wildfire on the north side of Interstate 80 near the stateline is being attacked by multiple agencies.

As of 1:45 p.m., I-80 was partially closed westbound at the stateline as firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, CalFire, Truckee Fire and crews from Reno began initial attack on a 20 acre blaze that is moving up hill into timber in Sierra County.

Reports had the fire cresting the ridge above the interstate.

In addition to fire trucks and hand crews, an air attack helicopter was responding to the scene.

The fire started in brush and quickly moved into trees. The weather at Verdi, Nev., just over the stateline, is 68 degrees with a northwest wind at 15 mph.
