Today, Nov. 15, is the date that the State of California closes most of its Sierra streams, creeks and rivers to fishing for the 2007 fishing season.

Those waters will not re-open to fishing again until the last Saturday in April of 2008.

Starting tomorrow, Nov. 16, you'll be restricted to fishing California's open lakes and reservoirs until that magical day in late April.

As a special reminder, also remember that all of the applicable, open waters in Inyo and Mono Counties (For example: The Twin Lakes area, the June Lake Loop, Convict Lake, the Mammoth Lakes area, Crowley Lake, etc. ) will close for 2007, today.

Note No. 1: The Trophy Section of the East Carson River, Calif., from Hangman's Bridge, downstream to the Nevada stateline, is now open, year round, with special restrictions.

Note No. 2: The East Walker River, Calif., from the Bridgeport Dam downstream to the Nevada stateline, is also now open, year round, with special restrictions.
