Call city to schedule leaf pick up beginning today

The Carson City Public Works Operations Division will schedule appointments for limb and leaf pick-up today to Nov. 21. Pick-up will be Nov. 26 to Nov. 30.

Leaves must be bagged and limbs must be less than six feet long tied in bundles no more than four inches in diameter.

Bags and bundles cannot exceed 60 pounds each.

Pick-up is for vegetation only. Place the material on curbs in plain view.

'Art and Ideas' talk at library Wednesday

Nevada Neighbors, the Capital City Arts Initiative's ongoing series of presentations on contemporary art, will feature Adam Lerner 7 p.m. Wednesday in "Experimenting with Art and Ideas," a talk at the Carson City Library.

There will be an informal reception at the library for Lerner at 6:15 p.m.

Teens wanted for Crisis Call Center campaign

Crisis Call Center is looking for teens to become a part of their Youth Leadership Council. The Council will work on a mass media campaign to end violence among teens. Couples sought as volunteers in communication study

University of Nevada, Reno psychology researchers are seeking volunteers to participate in a study that strives to improve interpersonal communication using tools and techniques presented in the book, "The High Conflict Couple" by Nevada professor Alan Fruzzetti.

Participating couples will visit the University once for a one- or two-hour training and will complete a brief follow-up survey by mail and telephone. Couples will receive a free copy of the book. Call 682-8675.
