Wilbur Earl Wieprecht, 89, passed away November 15, 2007 in Carson City, NV. He was born May 26, 1918 in Portland, OR and had been a resident of Carson City for 41 years.

He was an Army Veteran of WWII, participating in the Battle of the Bulge. Wilbur was one of the original employees of the Oregon State Park System, serving for 20 years. He also served 17 years with Nevada State Parks. He was responsible for the writing and placement of the Nevada Historical Markers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Leah Wieprecht; son, David E. Wieprecht; and stepdaughter, DeeAnn Parsons. Wilbur is survived by his wife of 34 years, Celia Wieprecht; son, Mark Wieprecht and wife, Molly; brother, Harvey Wieprecht; 2 granddaughters, Shelly Santo and Deena Lien-Richards; and 1 great grandson, Quinn Richards.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to the Carson City Historical Society. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
