A Carson City man and his Reno passenger were killed Saturday in a wreck outside Wells, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Joshua Warner, 21, of Carson City, was westbound on Interstate 80, 10 miles west of Well, about 7 a.m. when the Jeep Cherokee he was driving drifted off the right side of the highway and down an embankment, according a news release issued by Trooper Jim Stewart.

"Mr. Warner overcorrected his vehicle to the left causing it to rotate counterclockwise and rollover several times, " Stewart said.

The Jeep came to rest on its wheels on Frontage Road 428. Warner and 19-year-old right front passenger, Hannah Puente of Reno, both suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

The accident is still under investigation but it appears both occupants were wearing their seatbelts, said Stewart.
