Starting today, burning will be open in the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District.
A permit is required to burn, and burning is limited to clean vegetation and yard debris and on properties with a minimum of one acre only.
The burning of household trash and treated lumber is not permitted.
Burn barrels are no longer permitted.
Permits may be obtained at the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District office at 231 Corral Dr., Dayton.
You may also call the district office for a burn permit at 246-6209 or visit www.centrallyonfire.org.
CLCFPD's boundries are Silver City and Mound House at the west end to Silver Springs at the east.
